About Author

Meet a man of insight, wisdom, and dauntless perspective… author Theodore Rickles.

From northwest Philly, Ted began his adventures as an insightful kid with a penchant for the unknown and out of the ordinary.

From technological and social considerations he garnered from Star Trek to philosophical insights on religion, Ted Rickles was the odd one. Amid a swarm of people collectively conforming to their surroundings, He always questioned what most don’t; he was precocious and had an undying thirst for knowledge and seeking answers to whatever questions his mind could conjure.

Being a bright and intuitive student, he was rewarded with youth leadership training in such activities as the Presidential Classroom for Young Americans.

After concluding a trip to Israel, Ted’s writing prowess was acknowledged by his friend, Ellie Biernbaum, who invited him to become the editor of a local Youth Group Newsletter. He continued to submit occasional news articles to his high school newspaper and then his college newspaper while obtaining his master’s degree at Temple University.

Rickles’ career has spanned working as an intern for the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, lead-sales generation in a company run by his friend Laura Kessler, and marketing research with the Data Group, conducting studies for clients such as Johnson & Johnsons and Proctor & Gamble.

During the 1990’s Rickles writing aspirations led to working on a graphic novel sequel to Gene Roddenberry’s Genesis II (1973). Though the project was never published, Rickles continued to network and maintain connections in the fields of science fiction, sociology, and writing.

Through health issues and other tribulations in life, Theodore persevered. He believes in passing the torch of wisdom and hope to those who will one day replace us.

He shares this and much more through his experiences in his biography, Catching Lameds: Reflections on an Unconventional Life, rife with gripping encounters brimming with love, friendship, hardship, triumph, and much more.
